More than 500 Expected at College Workshops

* Sept. 29, Saturday -- More than 500 people are expected to attend college information sessions at ´ºÉ«ÊÓƵ' fourth annual "Fall Family Gathering" in Sacramento's William Land Park. Those invited include participants in the campus's Early Academic Outreach Program of Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach Services. The program serves K-12 students from educationally or economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Concurrent workshops -- offered in English, Spanish, Hmong, Vietnamese and Russian -- will help participants understand the public school system and help students work successfully toward admission to university. They will be followed by a question-and-answer session. The event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., also will include games and entertainment for younger children and information booths representing various community service agencies and organizations.
