Alumni Couple to Receive 2024 ��ɫ��Ƶ Medal, University’s Highest Honor

The 2024 ��ɫ��Ƶ Medal will be awarded to philanthropists Lois and Darryl Goss, who fell in love and eloped while students and have spent their lives giving back to the university.

University of California, Davis, Chancellor Gary S. May announced today (Feb. 14) he will award the 2023 ��ɫ��Ƶ Medal, the university’s highest honor, to international arts patron and philanthropist Maria Manetti Shrem.

��ɫ��Ƶ Medals will be presented this spring to two alumni couples — Jacque and Wayne Bartholomew, and Pam Rohrich and Karl Gerdes — each pair having met as students and committing not only to each other but their alma mater.

University of California, Davis, Chancellor Gary S. May announced today (Feb. 7) he will award the ��ɫ��Ƶ Medal to alumnus Bruce West, chair of the ��ɫ��Ƶ Foundation Board and a member of the Chancellor’s Board of Advisors.

The chancellor made the surprise announcement at a foundation board meeting this morning. “I’m pleased to say that the 2020 recipient of the ��ɫ��Ƶ Medal is right here in the room,” May said as he turned to West.

Richard C. “Dick” Dorf, professor emeritus in the Graduate School of Management and in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Davis, has been awarded the ��ɫ��Ƶ Medal in recognition of his contributions to ��ɫ��Ƶ and to the fields of engineering, entrepreneurship and technology management.
